Badminton Learn the Game Festival

Newcastle United Foundation hosted a free one day Learn the Game Badminton festival for 34 children as part of its Premier League for Sport programme.
Children from 8 years old to 15 years old joined in the fun at Walbottle Campus, home to one of the badminton satellite clubs that runs every week.
Badminton popularity in Newcastle is growing following the launch of Premier League 4 Sport last autumn with 60 children regularly playing every week.
Badminton coach Phil Hall said “the quantity and the quality of the players were second to non which resulted in 2 keenly contested singles competitions taking place. Whilst several other players benefited from learn the game session”. These fun days would not be possible without the backing of Newcastle United Foundation and the funding they receive from the Premier League 4 Sport.
